Eye tests

At Paul Adler Optometrists, we ensure you enjoy the best possible level of vision and visual comfort while also looking out for early signs of eye-related health problems.  A detailed sight test (eye examination) will detect any eye problems such as glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, squints, or amblyopia ("lazy eye"). The optician (optometrist) might also detect general health issues such as high blood pressure and diabetes.

Regular eye examinations are important for people of all ages. Good vision can make all the difference to how a child gets on at school and an up-to-date prescription can help remove barriers to learning at all ages. We see adults, children and infants. Changes in vision often occur in middle age, and medical issues can often have an impact on your sight.

Eye examinations are available privately and under the NHS. For more information about eligibility for NHS sight tests, see our FAQ.

Unless otherwise advised we recommend an eye test every 2 years although some people may need to be seen more frequently.
