What our Patients Think of Vision Therapy
The following are letters written by patients, parents or teachers following visits or treatment at our practice.
My concentration is better and school performance has rocketed having stagnated for 2 years. She is 'flying' again. Massive improvements.

It has helped me very much with my school work. I found it fun. And I enjoy it very much.

Danielle has so much more confidence in everything she works at. Her reading, writing, class and group activities. Danielle will even stand up in front of the whole school and read in assembly or school plays because she now knows she has the capability of reading her part without stammering or misreading words, because now everything makes sense to her. Thank you everyone at Paul Adler's.

Matthew hated doing the exercises and would like them to be more fun. He enjoyed the ball exercises but says the exercises have improved his co-ordination and his life! Matthew says his reading has improved dramatically.- We think his reading age has improved by about one year in just 6 months. His handwriting is now joined and legible . Thank you for helping us.

P.S. We recommend the food and drink (and prices) in the cafe across the road.
Although I found it hard at first, it got easier as I went along. The exercises were very different and fun to do and I had expected it to be boring – but in the end I found it interesting and often fun.
My reading is much better now and my eyes no longer water so much. Everybody says I read with expression and not like a robot, which is great.

To Paul and staff,
Thank you s-o-o much for my glasses, I like them s-o-o much. What a perfect match. In the car I was very worried about having glasses but I’m really happy now. So I wrote this poem about how great glasses REALLY are. If you like it please hang it up. Thank you for all your help.

You were very perceptive in assessing my visual problems and with your advice I have tried to avoid looking from side to side when tired, with good results.
Thank you again for persisting in doing what you know to be right regardless. I am delighted to see that you are being rewarded with success in such a high profile competition for this will give credibility to your message.
Congratulations

Dear Mr. Adler
I am writing to express our delight in the remarkable improvement in Laurence's reading since he undertook a course of treatment with you.
In September 1999, his reading age as assessed by the Neale reading test was 8 years 1 month. He was re-assessed last week and his reading age was found to be 10 years, an improvement of 23 months in 6 months time.
His ability to read music has also improved and it is now no longer necessary for us to annotate his music for him.
Although Laurence has been receiving some help with his reading, we feel that he would not have made such progress without the improvement to his eye co-ordination.

he Vision Therapy activities were usually challenging, sometimes frustrating and often damned hard work. But you made it all bearable, even dare I say – fun.
Dear Mr. Adler
I have received confirmation from Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue that my eyesight, as you advised, is of an acceptable standard for recruitment into the service.
I will still be at a disadvantage because of my age, but at least I feel confident that my application will not be rejected because of poor eyesight.
I have now embarked on an intensive fitness campaign to prepare myself for the selection tests later this year. Thank you very much for all the time and help you have given me.

Dear Mr. Adler
Thank you for your letter dated 7th January concerning Joseph.
I am pleased to be able to report that there has been a noticeable improvement in Joseph’s school work since he has been wearing glasses. Initially he had difficulties using them properly and would try to look underneath or over the top of them rather than through them. The recent modifications seem to have helped this.
Joseph is now able to copy more quickly and accurately from the blackboard. His handwriting has improved with the words on the line and the letters joined properly and the spacing between the letters more even. I enclose a photocopy of some of his work for you to see this.
There is still room for improvement and a need for him to unlearn some bad habits and improve his concentration span generally. I now feel, however, that this is a reasonable challenge for him. I am sure we will both continue to monitor his progress closely in future months.
Thank you for your help and concern.

Dear Paul
Thank you for the difference that you and your team have made in Jannicke’s life.
Best wishes for the future
Just a little note to say a big thank you for all the help and support you have given Jade throughout her vision therapy sessions with you. We were both very happy that Paul decided Jade no longer continue with the sessions now, as her school and social workload are quite extensive. However we are very happy that the time she spent with you has proved to be so fruitful.
Many thanks

Dear Mr. Adler
Following my son Matthew's eye test with you today please find enclosed the letter from his teacher which I forgot to bring.
Once again I would like to thank you for your excellent attention, and kindness you showed to my son and myself.

Dear Mr. Adler
I am writing to express my great pleasure at the progress Sophie has made since her visits to you.
Having been diagnosed dyslexic she was struggling with her reading and generally schoolwork and losing confidence as a result. The eye therapy system that you and your practice taught her has made a real difference. Her reading has improved enormously she really wants to read now and is tackling quite difficult books with relish. Her general school work has also come on leaps and bounds and her teachers are delighted with her progress. Sophie’s confidence and attitude to school has changed greatly for the better and she herself is very pleased with the result of the therapy.

Dear Paul
Thank you ever so much for the specs – I love them. It was really kind of you to sort out the problem so well. And kind of Virginia Woodhouse to bring them.
Thank you again for your help. I am very happy.
